Thats right with Immortality the implication we can draw is that it is bad. He have models of immortality not working all over the movies and books of two day. Edward Cullen was immortal and we saw what happened there. So you can come to the concusion that imortality is a dangerous thing that seems to only bring oplications and hurt to the table. With the story a Pictire his age and the fact that he is to live forever not aging it makes him vain and now want to do anything but keep what he loves about himself. BUT I would like to think that if I am faced with this idea of living forever that  I will not lose my self. Dorian becomes in love with self. If you dont have a soul as a part of you will say okay cool i can do whatever I want because i have no soul to look into and know i did wrong!
