Truth?? What is it and Where is it??

Truth. What is it and how the heck do we find it! I have no idea is it in what we are taught here the Church? Is it in myself? Is it in my teachers or friends? Truth is so hard to find.  How does what Plato's saying about Truth relate to me... Well i personally have in the last few year had a really hard time with loving God and knowing that I am fully into my faith. When my dad got sick it was like my life was over and all the sad things that had happened before that just built up and I grew this hate for God and his so called truth. I couldn't understand how a man , my father, could have been so bad or done some thing that had been so wrong to get such a serious Sickness. Like the prisoners i was facing the wall and could turn around. chained my my own feelings and actions. I could see the light of my theology teachers and others trying to get me to turn back to the light and to my path a a christian. I am working on being that man that goes to the light and then comes back to give the message to others!

Immortality cool or just living too long?

Immortality is living for ever without dying. Okay now we all joke and say that we want to live forever but I'm not sure we really mean it. Just like In the Mortal Immortal we see a man that things he wants the world and to live forever but then realizes he is cursed. This reminds me of the idea that Golden touch is not a good thing either. In that story he loves gold and whats all that he touches to become gold but then he turns his daughter to gold and he realizes he just wants to love her. This is the same for our Immortal he drinks the potion to make him live forever. But with all choices issues follow and he is in a way cursed. He can never get close to people. He has to move around a lot. He also finds a woman he loves but can not grow old with her and has to leave he before people around get suspicious.I feel for him and his mistakes! BUT all and all through him i have learned that immortality is not the way to go i am scared of death but i also don't wanna live forever!

In our socity and world we have the most judgemental eyes ever. We see a large person on the street and say he is fat and laugh making jokes that he needs to go to Mc Donalds and eat his big mac and diet coke. When we see a pregant teen on the street we say ooh shes easy. You could hit her anytime any place if you want what everyone else has had bad enough. We see a girl that has make up plastered on her face and looks like she did her make up in the dark. We say that she is a cake face and should really get make-up tips. BUT in reality you dont know them or their story. That fat guy he has a eating disorder and eats to feel better from all the abuse in his house and life. That easy pregant girl she was raped by her dad and she couldn't afford the abortion. That cake face girl that does her make- up in the dark. She has cuts on her face form a car acident that she was in with her father when a drunk drivier hit them... This is in the same in the story Richard III. He has been told by eveyone that he is horrible and ugly so thats what he believes about himself. Let CHANGE ALL OF THIS!

What is the purpose of marriage in our current American society?

Marriage in our society has decreased a little. It still has the same idea and meaning to alot of people but respect for Marriage has gone out of the window. Men cheat on wives and wives cheat on husbands. Many treat marriage as a thing they feel they have to do like a step in life then what it really is. Which in my eyes is giving yourself and life to another person. You now arnt just John or Lin you are now John & Lin! You are seen by society as one person working for the same goal. Those goals might be children or furturing your jobs. Marriage should be a good thing and i wish people would use it the right way!

Whats your Reputation...

First off to even talk about Reputation i feel like you need to know the definition. Reputation is the belifes or opinions that are generally held about someone or something. Its also a widespread belief that someone or something has a particular habit or characteristic.So now that we know what it is why is it important. Reputation depending on the person your talking to can either mean the world or mean nothing. A lot of guys in high school act a certain way to keep up a reputation. You can have the bad boy reputation, good girl reputation, the naughty girl repuation, nerd reputation, know it all repuation... so on and so on. In Beowulf.. Beowulf has the reputation of a hero and amazing human being. He has earned this because of all his hard work and will do anything to keep it even if it means dying by trying. In today's world we see people go to extremes to keep up their so called rep... Killing, drugs, stealing, and even sex.

Now what thinks can influence a persons reputation would be how they treat others, what they have done like wining a state championship, how they look, what they say, were they live, and who they hang out with. If you want to be COOL? You have to do certain things, say things right, like the right people, and even date the right people. If you ask me reputations should mean nothing. The only repuation I want is that im a good kid and thats good enough for me.

What is a Hero?

A Anglo-Saxon Hero is a man of never ending strength and power. He is Loyal and honnorable holding his head high to the end of his life just to fight for his country. He has the courage to face anything in his way. The Anglo Saxon hero has wisdom and has learned on his long journeys. He has a special weapon and needs no one to survie and strive. He will always fight to the death and be honnored when he dies. In America today not much has changed. We believe that our heros are strong and have much honor and respect for all. But in most modern takes on a prince we see him with a sidekick. Someone to keep him company and support him on his long journeys. Also most of our heros in modern times are saving a woman in distress and not so much fighting to the death in war. But all and all the hero is a man we can look up to in awe and think that he is a great thing to have and try to be.

Could you be Brave in a New World

Happiness and stability in society are much more important than freedom. The truth is that with freedom comes alot of your issues in the world. If your in a structred place with rules and a guidelines you don't have the issues that you do with freedom. Look at Brave New World with stucture and guidelines the people are happy. If you look at school there are guidelines. If you look at Army or armed forces they have rules that they follow. In the book you see that the people arn't completely un happy with whats going on in their world. If you dont know anything else you can be happy with out the freedom to do whatever you please

All About Me Rachel E!

Me and My Lifeguard friend Crystal!

Hi, this is Rachel! I have been known to go by a lot of nick names: Ray-Ray Rachie, Rayycheezzz,Ree-Ree, and last but by no means least Twinkie. I like to have people sing to me on the 14th of November. I am mixed half black (DADDY) and Half white (MOMMY) I love the person i am and i can't see changing anytime soon. I work as a Lifeguard and have saves a total of 11 people in the two summers. I have always been in Catholic School! I went to Our Lady of Humlity for all of grade school and St. Joesph for high school.  I am so excited for my SENIOR year and can’t wait to graduate! My Goals for this year are to stay strong in my grades but also have an amazing time with my friends.  I also can’t wait for Peer to Peer my group at school to grow and complete all of our cool plans. I also won Vice President for my International Girls Group called Rainbow for the State of Illinois so in a year I will be president! My life this year is going to be active and busy but I’m so excited and wouldn’t have it any other way.
